This blog post originally appeared on my research blog; visit LiteratureGeek.com for more digital humanities, coding, making, book-adjacent work (and any zine posts I forget to copy over here...)
Zine author Julia Evans has generously granted us a license to reprint and distribute print copies of all her zines for free from our public Scholars’ Lab zine rack distro! A huge thanks to Evans, whose very friendly, fun tech tutorial zines got Visconti started collecting, and whose work we assign to our students annually. Check out Evans’ zine site—and note she offers quite a few of them for free (scroll down the page to see those), including her excellent “So you want to be a wizard”, fantastic reading for anyone starting to learn to code and looking to reframe frustrations as normal and beneficial.
A huge thanks to Julia Evans for her generosity! We know these will be a hit with our community at Scholars’ Lab.
