A values-charter-drafting minizine for BookLabs, humanities makerspaces, academic printshops, & similar, by [you????] and Amanda Wyatt Visconti.
- A 8-page minizine, created for use during two workshops I taught at the Mellon-funded “Building BookLabs” 2025 Symposium.
- Modeled on Jess Walters’ Exchanging Perspectives disability justice zine, which combines minizine format with workbook-style journaling prompts, which the reader fills in and thus co-creates their first zine (if they haven’t made any before).
- With thanks to Ronda Grizzle’s teaching and research around scholarly team values charters, and facilitating collaborative charter writing.
A full-size zine version, expanded and providing more context and resources for use, is in the works.
- CC BY-NC.
- Current version: v1, 5/18/2025.
Available now:
- PDF of zine: suitable for reading on your computer, or printing in color (or black and white if necessary)
Coming eventually:
- Accessible text transcript & PDF versions
- Full-size, expanded zine version of this minizine
- Zine Bakery catalogue entry for this zine containing blurb, descriptive metadata, etc.
- Fewer-color PDF of zine: Same zine, except non-cover pages are meant to be print in black ink only on color paper (or white, if that’s all you have) to allow cheaper printing.
- Black-and-white version of zine: misses out on some photo details and fun color design, but printable if you don’t have a color printer; and/or if you need a higher-contrast zine for reading accessibility.
- Printing & assembly instructions.

The zine has a version formatted for printing or online reading linked above, but given the minizine layout requires rotating to read in PDF form, I’ve also posted the page images below:
